EACH DAY IS A NEW DAY!
Greetings to everyone in the Opportunity Middle and High School Family as we enter the 2025-26 school year! This will be our final year located at the Glenn Center, the original Concord High School which originally opened in 1923. I am very happy to share that we have many students who were very successful this past year and they have returned to their home schools. I know they are very excited! The Opportunity School vision and guiding principle is “A revitalized and re-engaged student who is empowered and capable.” This vision statement embodies our day to day practices as we work with students with eagerness, enthusiasm, and dedication. We will continue to assist the school district in preparing responsible, productive citizens who have worked to improve their academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Our continuum of alternative services reaches out to proactively target the needs of at-risk students with early intervention strategies, character education, highly trained and talented teachers and staff members, and high quality instruction. At Cabarrus Opportunity School, we address the needs of students with attendance, credit, and behavioral challenges, but we try our best to help students every day in a smaller, structured, nurturing environment that builds their ability to be successful in the traditional school setting and beyond. As your school leader, I am proud to serve the staff and the students in a positive manner and my role here is to facilitate your educational and behavioral goals so that you are able to transition to your home schools after you serve your 45 and 90 day placements. Always be your best self!
Best Wishes!
